Five visions of leadership: a centennial lecture series
In recognition of the centennial year of the College of Education
and Human Development, the Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle
has organized a dynamic series of five lectures throughout the year
focusing on different aspects of leadership. These lectures are
open to the public and will all be held on the University of Minnesota
campus.
School Leadership
Thursday, September 29, 2005, 8-10 a.m.
Join us for breakfast and an informative and lively panel of school
superintendents who will share their knowledge and experience.
Wednesday, November 9, 2005, noon
Luncheon meeting with author, management consultant and University
alumna Marilyn Mason who
will use her background in change management and family systems
to talk about family philanthropy—how do we pass on our values to
the next generation? How do we make philanthropic decisions and
not shortchange our children or grandchildren?

Verna Allee
Knowledge-Based Leadership
Thursday, February 2, 4-6 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon presentation and reception to hear
author and speaker Verna
Allee, a internationally recognized authority on value networks
and knowledge management. She will speak on the power and effectiveness
of networks and how women can use networks effectively to leverage
opportunities.

Dr. Martha Taylor
Philanthropic Leadership
Tuesday, April 18, 2006, 3-5 p.m.
Come join us for lunch and a presentation by Dr. Martha Taylor.
Dr. Taylor is a vice-president of the University of Wisconsin
Foundation and internationally recognized for her leadership
in the women and philanthropy movement. An author of several
books and many journal articles, Dr. Taylor is the co-founder
of the
Women’s Philanthropic Institute, now a part of the School
of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
