Global Teacher Education Program (GTEP)

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is a world leader in discovering and creating practices of multiculturalism an multidisciplinary scholarship. It ranks 3rd nationally in research among all public colleges of education.

The University of Minnesota is one of the top research universities in the United States. Located in a vibrant urban area on the banks of the Mississippi River, the University is the ideal place to experience American culture while engaging in a high quality professional development program. The University has been involved with on-campus international professional development activities for decades.

The Global Teacher Education Programs (GTEP) in the College of Education and Human Development has served over 250 educators. Participants attend seminars and workshops led by UMN faculty members and staff. The program also includes an internship experience in private and public schools in the Twin Cities area. During their school placements participants will be mentored by local teachers. Individuals 18 or older with strong interest in teaching, and intermediate to high level of English proficiency are ideal candidates for this program.

4 week winter (January) and summer (July) sessions available

$3,500 program fee includes:

  • Department and program fees
