The Institute of Child Development (Department of Child Psychology) offers training at the Ph.D. level for research in normal human development. Students select one of three tracks of study: general developmental psychology, developmental psychopathology and clinical science (DPCS), or developmental psychology and school psychology. In addition, students specialize in areas such as cognitive development, language, learning, perceptual development, social and personality development, or developmental psychobiology and neuroscience. Most graduates take positions in research or academic settings.

Please note that the Institute of Child Development does not admit students for a terminal M.A. degree.
