Adviser with studentsMajor/Minor Declaration

If you are already admitted to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities you may declare a child psychology major or minor, once you have completed (or are in the process of completing) CPsy 2301, Introductory Child Psychology, or an equivalent.

If you are a current University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, student interested in pursuing a child psychology major or minor, please email Meghan Allen Eliason (cpsyadvis@umn.edu) with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. Your Student ID number
  3. Whether you are declaring a BA, BS, or minor
  4. Your available times to meet during the week

Not seeing your transfer coursework listed? You may request to have your developmental psychology courses evaluated by sending the following information to Meghan Allen Eliason at cpsyadvis@umn.edu:

  1. Your name
  2. Your U of M Student ID number (if available)
  3. The name of the course and the course designator and number (e.g. PSY 100)
  4. The name of the institution where you took the class
  5. The term during which you took the class

In order to declare a child psychology major at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, you must first apply to the College of Liberal Arts; be sure to indicate your interest in child psychology when applying.
