Additional Licensure in Early Childhood Education

Our additional licensure program is for students with current full (5-year) Minnesota licensure in Elementary Education who want to become licensed Early Childhood teachers in Minnesota.

Sample curriculum

CPSY 5252 Facilitating Social and Emotional Learning in ECE (3 credits)

CPSY 5253 Facilitating Cognitive and Language Learning in ECE (3 credits)

CPSY 5254 Facilitating Creative and Motor Learning in ECE (2 credits)

EPSY 5625 Education of Infants, Toddlers and Preschool Children with Disabilities: Intro (2 credits)

EPSY 5681 Education of Infants, Toddlers and Preschool Children with Disabilities: Methods and Materials (3 credits)

Student Teaching Experience (4-6 credits)

CPSY 5281 Student Teaching in Early Childhood Education (4-6 credits)*
*Includes a Professional Teaching Seminar

MTLE Early Childhood Education Content Test (must be passed in order to recommend for licensure)
