The Institute of Child Development is a premiere center of scholarship, teaching and outreach. We offer programs in child psychology and early childhood education. Both of our programs are focused on learning about the developing child from slightly different perspectives, with slightly different goals.

BA/BS in Child Psychology

Child psychology spans the biological and social sciences, and offers a wide range of areas for tuning skills in problem solving, critical thinking, statistics, and writing. Students have unique opportunities to get involved in directed research or to gain practical experience through field study. Our programs prepare students for careers and graduate study in psychology, counseling, human services, education, medicine, law, sociology, and other behavioral sciences.
