Toddlers & Parents Study

This study is being conducted through a partnership between Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and Dr. Megan Gunnar and Shanna Mliner, M.Ed. of the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development with funding support by the JPB Foundation.

Parents can sometimes provide support to lessen or “buffer” stressful experiences for their children. The goal of this study is to determine whether a parent’s supportive presence during well-child medical visits with immunization shots can lower the stress response levels of toddlers.

This project is being conducted at local pediatric medical clinics during 12-month, 15-month, or 18-month well-child appointment visits. If you would like more information about the Toddlers and Parents Study, please contact Shanna Mliner at 612-624-4351 or newma039@umn.edu
