WISHES: Women and Infants Study of Health, Emotions, and Stress

WISHES is recruiting women who are 12 weeks pregnant or less to help us learn about how stress influence your health and your baby’s health. Participants will be compensated for their time (cash or Target gift card). Visits are scheduled at a convenient time for you. Parents remain with their child during the entirety of all visits after birth.

Women who participate will be asked to:

  • Answer questionnaires on health, emotions, and stress
  • Complete fetal ultrasound echocardiography to track your baby’s growth
  • Look at pictures on a computer while we track your eye movements
  • Provide some strands of hair to measure the hormone cortisol

At 3-6 months after birth, infants will be asked to:

  • Complete infant behavioral assessments
  • Look at pictures on a computer while we track their eye movements

This study is a collaboration with researchers at the Women’s Health Specialist Clinic and the Institute of Child Development. For more information please contact Colleen Doyle at 651-332-4442 or email IRB #1602M84622.
