Gopher Adventure Race Green Initiative

We are committed to creating an event that encourages eco-friendly practices! By partnering with FitPlanet, we are pledging to take measures that will reduce our impact during this event and offset our carbon footprint. Just by participating in the Gopher Adventure Race, you can help! A portion of every entry fee will go to the Three Rivers Park District where it will go directly towards helping keep our parks beautiful, preserve our ecology, protect critical wildlife habitats, and provide a means for improving our air and water quality.

We have committed to:

• Partnering with FitPlanet by signing a "Pledge of Sustainability"
• Online registration reducing paper use
• Partnering with Metro Transit to provide free transportation for participants on race day to reduce the need to drive to campus
• Recycled water bottles given to each participant to use and reuse!
• No race bibs
• Swag made from recycled materials
• Minimal paper in race packet
• Recycling at race headquarters and campus wide
• Using compostable materials whenever possible
