Graduate assistantships

Graduate assistantships

M.A./M.S. and Ph.D. applicants

Each January the faculty in the School of Kinesiology evaluates the pool of applicants for graduate assistant positions for the following academic year (fall-spring). Most graduate assistant positions involve teaching, but some may involve administration or research. The number of positions available in any given year varies and is limited in number; thus competition is rigorous among those applying. In order to be considered for these positions, the School of Kinesiology must receive a graduate assistant application by December 1. Instructions can be found in the application form below.

Note: Admission to the Graduate School is a prerequisite for the awarding of graduate assistantships.

The application focuses on qualifications related to teaching physical activity and sport, teaching undergraduate majors courses in kinesiology and sport management, and research experience and skills.
