M.Ed./initial licensure in physical education

The M.Ed./initial licensure and professional development program is offered by the School of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development. It is a graduate-level, practitioner-based program that offers students one option:

The initial licensure program prepares students for Minnesota teaching licensure in physical education. This specialization is designed for those students who want to receive a Minnesota license to teach K-12 physical education. A minimum of 20 credits is required for this program, which leaves approximately 10 additional credits to complete the M.Ed.

Note: Admission and advising for this program is offered through Student Services.

Associated faculty: Nancy Heisel, Nancy Ostmoe, Nancy Mohrs, Elizabeth Spletzer, Paul Vogel

Licensure in developmental/adapted physical education is also available.
