Explore Costa Rica!
An experiential learning opportunity with the
Recreation, Park and Leisure Studies Program

Costa Rica, a landmass encompassing only .03% of the earth’s surface, contains 5% of earth’s biodiversity- a density that is unmatched anywhere else in the world. Costa Rica is green and lush year round. From the tropical rainforests to unique cloud forests, mangrove estuaries to vast wetlands this country is teeming with life. Much of what enables Costa Rica’s biodiversity to remain intact is strong environmental education among its citizens and visitors, helping everyone to understand the significance of the natural world and the importance of sustained stewardship of its sensitive ecosystems. As global citizens, it is our responsibility to understand our role in protecting this important and valuable resource.
Students have created digital stories that depict particular topics related to our travel to Costa Rica. These brief videos are informative and incorporate first hand accounts using research, expert interviews and actual photos and footage shot during our travels.
