The Math-in-CTE Lessons

The Math-in-CTE model is not a curriculum, nor is it a set of lesson plans. It is both a process and a pedagogy that, when followed, will result in improved math skills. Therefore, curriculum mapping to locate the math embedded in CTE curricula always precedes the selection and development of the math-enhanced lessons. Because CTE curricula vary greatly, as do the kinds of math found in different CTE occupational areas, the kinds of lessons that emerge will also vary from course to course and program to program.

This page provides links to the math-enhanced CTE lessons created by CTE-math teacher teams from five occupational areas who participated in the Math-in-CTE study. Each lesson follows the seven element pedagogic framework of the Math-in-CTE model.
