Profile

In OLPD I teach leadership, career-development, and human resource development courses and conduct research on multiple aspects of these related fields. I also work on other professional engagement projects, including conferences and symposia such as Best Practices in Leadership Development (2011) and Best Practices in Leadership Development (2009).

At the University of Minnesota Center for Integrative Leadership (faculty profile) I co-teach the Integrative Leadership Seminar, an integrative effort of faculty from CEHD, the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, the Carlson School of Management, and the School of Public Health, and the Law School.

I continue my work at Korn Ferry Hay Group in the Leadership and Talent Consulting practice on a limited basis, designing and deploying leadership development initiatives to support strategic organizational change in large, complex organizations. The Korn Ferry Hay Group is a global leadership solutions company with distinctive expertise in accelerating leadership effectiveness to maximize organizational results.

My educational background is in human resource development, with supporting work in industrial-organizational psychology. For over 30 years, I have worked as a consultant, designing and delivering large-scale leadership development interventions for client organizations across the United States and in many countries around the world. I joined the faculty in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development in the College of Education and Human Development in 2009.
