Profile

My professional interests include gender and education, youth policy, and international development education. As a research fellow for the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD), I am currently working with Dr. David Chapman and Dr. Joan DeJaeghere in a evaluation partnership with The MasterCard Foundation to assess the overall impact of non-formal and formal educational initiatives on out-of-school youth. As the deputy director of this project, I assist in leading the UMN team to develop and implement a common framework for assessing the impacts of program activities on youth livelihoods.

I received my master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in educational policy and administration, with a program focus in comparative and international development education. My past scholarly work has included working with CARE to investigate girls’ and boys’ empowerment and education efforts in eight developing countries and examining adolescent girls’ leadership in Honduras using CARE’s Girls Leadership Index (GLI) survey.
