CARE

The University of Minnesota, partnering with Miske Witt and Associates, Inc. has received a 1.1 million dollar grant from 2008-2010 to work in partnership with 8 countries on the CARE Patsy Collins Trust Fund Initiative, an initiative to improve the lives of the most marginalized girls and boys. See www.cehd.umn.edu/research/care.

Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI)

The Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) creates connections between the college and Minnesota's schools to reform educational practice and improve overall effectiveness, disseminate research results, provide incentives and technical assistance for collaborative school-based research, and address educational issues of state and national importance. See www.cehd.umn.edu/CAREI.

Institute on Community Integration (ICI)

The Institute on Community Integration (ICI) is committed to preventing and reducing the limiting effects of disabilities. ICI applies its resources to improve the quality and community orientation of professional services and social supports available to individuals with disabilities and their families. The Institute is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), supported in part by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. See www.ici.umn.edu.

Jandris Center for Innovative Higher Education

The Jandris Center for Innovative Higher Education fosters collaboration among researchers, policy makers, students and other stakeholders who seek to understand and transform the quality of postsecondary education. The Center supports multidisciplinary research and innovation in four areas: policy and finance; access, diversity and equity; leadership; and teaching and learning. See www.cehd.umn.edu/Jandris/.

Leapfrog Institutes

The Leapfrog Institutes aim to build positive futures for PreK-21 education and the communities that they serve. Sponsored by the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota and its partnering institutions, Leapfrog Institutes work ahead of their contemporaries in teaching, research, innovation, and service. Leapfrog is a paradigmatic jump into best case uses of existing and edge technologies in hardware, software, and intellectual formats. See www.leapfrog.umn.edu.

MasterCard Foundation Learn, Earn, and Save Initiative

A team of faculty and graduate students from the University of Minnesota have embarked on a six-year (2011-2017) evaluation collaboration with The MasterCard Foundation to assess the overall impact of non-formal and formal youth entrepreneurship education initiatives on marginalized youth in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. See www.cehd.umn.edu/olpd/research/mastercardfdn.

Minnesota Evaluation Studies Institute

The Minnesota Evaluation Studies Institute website was designed to be an evaluation portal to help you find resources for evaluation assistance, customized training, and evaluation research. We know there are many evaluation consulting and training needs in our community, and we also know that it isn’t always easy to find and access evaluation expertise that fits your need. Through this website, we are hoping to connect you with useful program evaluation resources at the University of Minnesota. See www.evaluation.umn.edu.

OLPD Student Research Conference

The goal of the OLPD Student Research Conference is to highlight both undergraduate and graduate student work related to the latest research findings, best practices, and theoretical/conceptual developments within our department. See www.cehd.umn.edu/olpd/research/StudentConf.

Virtual Museum of Education Iconics

Images of education collected by Ayers Bagley, professor emeritus. "Education Iconics" is the name of a field of inquiry. The term "iconics" is an abridgment coined to denote both iconographic and iconologic inquiry into the visual expression of educational themes. An analysis and understanding of educational beliefs, attitudes, values, and practices in the societies where the images were both produced and used is possible through the study of education iconics. See www.iconics.cehd.umn.edu.
