Jennifer Engler began her career at the University of Minnesota in 1998 when she completed her pre-doctoral internship at University Counseling and Consulting Services (UCCS). Upon graduation, Jennifer accepted a position in the counseling office at the College of St. Benedict, but after one year returned to UCCS as a staff psychologist. Jennifer worked in UCCS until 2006 providing leadership to the Outreach and Consultation and Career Development Programs and working as senior psychologist, counseling undergraduate and graduate students for personal, career, and academic concerns.
Jennifer joined the College of Education and Human Development in January 2007 as the associate director of Undergraduate Student Services, providing leadership to key initiatives in the college, including working to successfully recruit and admit the college's first freshman cohort. Jennifer worked in the College of Continuing Education as the director of student services and advising for the 2009-10 academic year prior to returning to CEHD. She is currently the assistant dean of students and director of student services.
Jennifer grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Macalester College in 1991. She attended graduate school at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1998. Jennifer is dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for all students in the college through strong partnerships across the college and the University. She believes in high standards of service and effective communication designed to support the timely and successful progress for all CEHD students to degree completion.
