Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Teachers and Administrators
The Minnesota Board of Teaching identifies CEUs and clock hours as the same. CEUs/clock hours are determined based on the number of instructional hours of the learning event. Other states and national professional organizations may differ on how CEUs are attributed. Participants from out of state districts are encouraged to contact their local continuing education committees/professional organizations for more information
The Minnesota Board of Teaching equivalency for credit options for courses is:
- Teachers: one semester credit equals 24 clock hours or CEUs.
- Administrators: one semester credit equals 20 clock hours or CEUs.
Non-credit professional development offerings are based on actual instructional hours.
