Bio
I was born in New York City and grew up in Syosset, New York, a small town in the northern suburbs of Long Island. I earned a B.S. in physics (minor in mathematics) from Purdue University in 1968, an M.A. in mathematics education (related fields in geophysics and mathematics) in 1976, and a Ph.D. in mathematics education (related fields in mathematics and computer education) in 1979 from the University of Minnesota.
I have taught mathematics and computing in General College since 1974.
My major professional interests are teaching developmental mathematics and computing and writing textbooks in those areas.
My hobbies are reading and playing folk guitar.
