Jennifer has been with the America Reads Program since Fall of 2002. Jennifer has a degree in Communication with English and Writing Minors and spent a year coordinating an after-school program at a charter school in South Minneapolis. She recently earned her certificate in training and facilitation through the College of Continuing Education and completed the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Leadership Institute in Winter of 2010.

In addition to her work with this program, Eva also teaches literacy related courses in the College of Education and Human Development. For the past ten years, Eva has traveled the state providing professional development for classroom teachers in the area of reading instruction, assessment, and program development and has held leadership positions with her state professional organization. In the beginning of her career as an educator, she taught language arts and reading courses at Celina Junior High and High School in Celina, Ohio and then was employed as a high school reading specialist at Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley Minnesota.

Megan PietersMegan Pieters | Coordinator

Megan is a recent addition to America Reads and is responsible for coordinating tutoring sites in St. Paul. Megan has a degree in Family Social Science with a minor in Spanish Studies. She has served in several leadership positions at the University of Minnesota and has dedicated much of her time to volunteering. Megan has shared her love for literacy as an America Reads tutor and as a Servant Leader Intern for the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools.
