Description:
|
Considering HOW we teach is as important as considering WHAT
we teach. Coaching conversations encourage reflection on
teaching practices by giving teachers time to collaborate with a
literacy coach or colleague to further refine their reading
instruction. The greatest potential for reflective practice to
improve schools lies within the collective inquiry, thinking,
learning, understanding, and acting that result from school-wide
engagement (York-Barr, Sommers, Ghere, & Montie, 2006).
This workshop series will provide opportunities to learn
about how effective coaching conversations will promote teacher
reflection and change in instructional practice.
This topic is presented over a period of four sessions in
order to provide time for participants to implement and reflect
upon the information and strategies presented between sessions.
