Research

Each year, CEHD funds four international research grants for faculty, students, and staff.

Research projects vary greatly in size, scope, and geographical focus, but all engage local stakeholders from around the world in the knowledge generation process.

2011 Grant Recipients

Juliana Carlson and Jeff Edleson (School of Social Work) explored the role of engaging men in reducing violence against women. The research team surveyed 28 organizations in 17 countries.

Results indicated that the organizations which were most successful in engaging men in gender-based violence prevention were those that had accessible messages for men, concrete opportunities for men to participate in dialogue, and intentionally invited men to be part of violence prevention work.
