SSW's educational program extends beyond the traditional classroom and degree-earning model. We offer evening, weekend, online, and off-site training and continuing education options to help social service professionals meet changing job, career, and life goals.

The School of Social Work is offering two continuing education series for social workers that continue our efforts to build practice excellence by partnering with professionals.

The Clinical Practice Series is aimed at social workers needing to meet new educational requirements for LICSW licensure, and at experienced clinicians with specialized interests. The series offers a total of 198 hours of clinical education and training through 19 short-courses and workshops.

The Supervision Series offers pre-approved continuing education credits that meet the new requirements of the Minnesota Board of Social Work. The series offers a total of 157 hours of training and education through 13 different short-courses and workshops.

Short-courses and workshops begin in May. Enrollment is limited, so register soon!

CEUs on a Stick logo6th Annual CEUs on a Stick 2012

The School of Social Work will again offer our two-day conference during the Minnesota State Fair. The dates this year are Monday and Tuesday, August 27 and 28. A free Fair ticket will be given to those who register for one full day and two tickets for those registering for full two days. Many workshops are offered during this event, and anyone attending both days can earn a total of 12 CEUs. More information and registration.

Online Learning Modules for Social Work and Health Care Professionals

The School of Social Work is offering 10 continuing education modules to help social workers and other health care professionals gain cultural compency in their work with older adults. Three of the modules deal with fostering cultural compentency iin social work pratice in elder mistreatment, end-of-life care, and dementia. These three modules offer 2 continuing-education units, which must be paid for prior to beginning the course. The other seven modules are available for free, unless you want to earn 1.5 CEUs. Details.
