Kente Circle Field Placement Fellowship
This fellowship provides support for a student completing a 12-month (July-June) field placement with Kente Circle, an agency that provides culturally sensitive clinical services in the urban environment of south Minneapolis.
Students in the Clinical Mental Health Concentration who have completed or who are concurrently enrolled in courses that are pre-requisite for doing a clinical field placement are eligible to apply for this training opportunity. Students should take special note that this placement requires additional time in the field setting. Applicants for the internship go through an interview process at the agency, and final selection rests with Kente Circle.
This is a one-time grant of $5,000 for a student completing a one-year (July-June) Clinical Mental Health concentration internship.
Applicants for the internship go through a special process that follows a different timeline from other field placements. Interested and qualified students submit an application and resume in January, and then go through an interview process with Kente Circle staff. Final selection for this internship rests with Kente Circle. Students should be alert to communication from the M.S.W. Field program about information about this internship and about applying for the internship.
