Prerequisites for kinesiology

Requirements for admission consideration to the upper division major

• Minimum of 2.50 GPA
• 60 credits completed or in progress

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities students need:

• Four of these five courses completed or in progress:
  • Biology with a lab
  • Chemistry with a lab
  • Physics with a lab
  • Anatomy
  • KIN 1871: Survey of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sports

Students outside of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities need:

• Complete the following 3 science classes (one can be in progress):
  • Biology with a lab
  • Chemistry with a lab
  • Physics with a lab
• Also complete 2 of the following 3 courses:
  • General psychology
  • Public speaking
  • Mathematics (statistics is preferred, but algebra or higher is accepted)
