Prerequisites for sport management
Requirements for admission consideration to the major
- Minimum of 2.00 GPA (2.75 strongly preferred)
- 60 credits completed or in progress
Current University of Minnesota students need:
- KIN 1871: Survey of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport
- SMGT 1701: Introduction to Sport Management
- PSTL 1571: Computer Literacy and Problem Solving
Strong candidates for the major (both inside and outside the U of M) should have the following courses completed or in progress:
- General psychology
- Introduction to public speaking
- Introduction to sociology
- Basic concepts in personal and community health (if available)
- Three physical education courses
- Most liberal education requirements (generals)
