Criteria
Successful nominees should have:
- Evidence of solid accomplishments in the improvement of direct services that are provided by educational, health, and related human development agencies. Cited activities should be consistent with the college mission and reflect the college’s commitment to a bi-directional involvement in the type of activities inherent in the UM’s adopted definition of engagement: Engagement is defined as the partnership of university knowledge and resources with those of the public and private sectors to enrich scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhance curriculum, teaching and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen democratic values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good. Collaborative activities should result in long-term, lasting changes in the direct services of the organizations and agencies.
