Scholarships and awards available through the college
College awards for master of education (M.Ed.)/initial licensure students
Featured scholarship recipient

Ann Swerkstrom
M.Ed./ILP student in English education
Recipient of the Judy Walter Scholarship
"My first volunteer experiences were in a fifth grade classroom at Oh Day Aki Heart of the Earth Charter School here in Minneapolis. Working with that population really opened my eyes to the unique challenges that urban schools face, and it was so rewarding to see positive effects of caring, passionate educators. As I gained more experience working with other urban districts, I became convinced that there are many ways for a school to be successful — but that the foundation of success is made up of competent and engaging teachers."
CEHD is committed to providing scholarship support to students entering the initial licensure program, giving over $200,000 in private donor-funded scholarships each year, and an additional $50,000 in pooled scholarships administered by CEHD Student Services.
Starting summer 2008, initial licensure students will be considered for many scholarships at the time of admission, without needing to submit an additional application. See a list of these scholarships. Additional initial licensure program scholarships will be available through filling out a single application form, the CEHD Graduate Student Scholarship Application Packet [.pdf]. This application form has a deadline of April 1. By submitting this form, you will be considered for any scholarship for which you are qualified. Some of these scholarships are targeted for "merit and need;" to be considered for these, be sure to fill out your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1.
