Alpha Alpha Education Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship is awarded by the Roseville Alpha Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international teacher sorority. The applicant must be a child of a Roseville School District 623 employee or Roseville School District graduate who is a college senior or a post-graduate student majoring in education.

AVON Products Foundation Career Empowerment Scholarship Program

Criteria: This scholarship was established to assist women seeking the education necessary for entry or re-entry into the work force, or career advancement in a business-related field. The applicant must 1) be a woman 25 years of age or older and a citizen of the U.S.; 2) be officially accepted into an accredited program or course of study at a U.S. institution; 3) be graduating within 12 to 24 months from date of grant; 4) demonstrate critical need for financial assistance; 5) be studying in a business-related field; and 6) have a definite plan to use the desired training to upgrade skills for career advancement, to train for a new career field, or to enter or re-enter the job market. Doctoral level study is not covered.
Application: The completed packet must be postmarked on or before April 15. Audrey Erskine Scholarship Award

Criteria: Applicants must be juniors or seniors enrolled in the College of Education and Human Development with intent to teach at the preschool, elementary, or secondary level in Minnesota. Membership in Student Minnesota Education Association is required. Award money can be used at any accredited four-year college or university and is to be applied toward tuition, lodging, book, and/or other necessary educational expenses.
Application: Deadline is June 1. Applicants must submit a completed application form, college transcript, and recommendations from student teaching supervisors, professors, classroom teaching supervisors, and/ or department heads. Business and Professional Women (BPW) Career Advancement Scholarship

Kappa Omicron Nu Fellowships

Criteria: Applicants must be qualified home economics graduate students who are members of Kappa Omicron Nu. Recipients are selected for demonstrated scholarship, research, and leadership potential.

Janet H. and C. Harry Knowles Teaching Fellowships

Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF)
Criteria: KSTF Teaching Fellows are young men and women who have received a bachelor's or advanced degree in science, engineering or mathematics and are committed to teaching high school science and/or mathematics in U.S. schools.

Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Young Scholars Fellowship
Amount: $110,000 (typically $55,000 per year for two years)
Criteria: The Knowles Research Fellowships are intended to support outstanding scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds whose work contributes to science and mathematics educational research, practice, and policy. In particular, KSTF seeks to support scholarship related to issues in the recruitment, preparation, induction, mentoring and retention of science and mathematics teachers in United States high schools. The KSTF Young Scholars Fellowship is awarded to recent, pre-tenure Ph.D.'s in research or academic positions. The Young Scholars Fellowship is intended to support research relevant to the mission of KSTF in mathematics, science, education, psychology, sociology or other fields.

Luce Scholarship Program

For one-year internships in Asia. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, not more than 29 years old, and hold bachelor's degree at the beginning of the award. Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MAFCS) Scholarships for Specialization in Family and Consumer Sciences

Criteria:
Undergraduate eligibility: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate
student in a human ecology or family and consumer sciences major
attending a college or university in Minnesota, a college junior or
senior with an academic average of B or above (not less than 3.00 on
a 4 point scale), and a student member of AAFCS/MAFCS.
Graduate eligibility: Graduate students with a human ecology/family and consumer sciences specialization at a university in Minnesota and an active or student member of AAFCS/MAFCS.
Minnesota Gerontological Society (MGS) Gerald Bloedow Scholarship

Criteria: MGS plans to award two $1000 scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year, one to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student. The MGS Office must receive all applications by February 15, with scholarship decisions to be made by March 15. Scholarship recipients should plan to attend the MGS Spring Conference at the Earle Brown Center in Brooklyn Center on Friday, April 27.
Minnesota Social Service Association (MSSA) scholarships

Criteria: The Marjorie J. Carpenter Scholarship has been formulated to enhance the professional and/or technical skill development of those seeking a masters degree in a human service field. The MSSA Education Scholarship has been formulated to enhance the professional and/or technical skill development of those seeking education in a human service field. The MSSA Diversity Scholarship has been formulated to assist students from African-American, American Indian, Asian, GLBT, Hispanic and Immigrant Cultures in completing their education in the Human Service Field.
National Military Family Association’s Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarships

Criteria: Scholarships are awarded to spouses of Uniformed Services members (active duty, National Guard and Reserve, retirees, and survivors) to obtain professional certification or to attend post secondary or graduate school. Scholarships range in amount from $500 to $1,000.00, and the number awarded each year varies depending on funding. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, and school room and board. Scholarship selection is based on completion of survey questions , short-answer questions, and an essay question.
Wilma Allison Moore Endowed Educational Scholarship
This award was established by the family of Wilma Allison Moore, an educator of elementary students. This scholarship is administered by the St. Paul Foundation, a non-profit, community foundation.
Amount: One annual award will be made on a non-renewable
basis, provided there is a competitive application pool. The award
amount is approximately $1,000.

Criteria: Applicants must be entering their first year or be currently enrolled in a master's degree program in elementary education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. Priority will be granted to African-American women pursuing a degree in elementary education. Preference is granted to members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and applicants who are native to Minneapolis or St. Paul, or currently residing in the Twin Cities.

NAE Spencer Post-Doctoral Fellowships
Amount: $55,000 for one academic year
of research or $27,500 for each of two contiguous years,
working half-time.

Background: The National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program supports early career scholars working in critical areas of education research. This nonresidential postdoctoral fellowship funds proposals that make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education. The program also develops the careers of its recipients through professional development activities involving National Academy of Education members.
Criteria: Applicants must have received their Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent degree between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2006. Applicant should have a demonstrated record of research experience in education. Proposed project must be a research project. Applications will be judged on the applicant's past research record, career trajectory, and the quality of the project described in the application. Non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply.

Phi Upsilon Omicron Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards

Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowships

Criteria: Applicants need not be citizens of the United States; however, they must be candidates for the doctoral degree at a graduate school within the United States. These fellowships are not intended to finance data collection or the completion of doctoral coursework, but rather to support the final analysis of the research topic and the writing of the dissertation. For this reason, all applicants must document that they will have completed all pre-dissertation requirements by June 1, 2007 and must provide a clear and specific plan for completing the dissertation within a one or two-year time frame.

Only applicants seeking a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university are eligible to receive a $10,000 award. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.
