About Fadumo

Fadumo was born in Burco Somaliland and immigrated here when she was 11 years old with her mother and siblings. After high school Fadumo wanted to be a lawyer and attended College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL, where she studied Criminal Justice Administration. During her time there she started working in the financial aid office as a student worker and loved what she was doing, helping students.

After graduation Fadumo stayed and worked in the financial aid office as a Document Tracking Assistant for three years. Fadumo moved to Northern California and followed her dream of helping students working at De Anza College as a Financial Aid Outreach Assistant. After two years she moved on to a Financial Aid Advisor position at Life Chiropractic College West.

Fadumo moved to Minnesota in August and this will be her first winter in ten years! Fadumo is a mother of three beautiful children; one girl (7) and two boys (6 and 2). Her two year old son keeps her very busy! Fadumo enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with family. She is very excited to be here and be part of the TRIO UB family. She is looking forward to meeting the students, parents, U of MN colleagues and Minneapolis school staff.
