About us
Tucker Center Summer Internship Program
Mentoring and providing a quality research experience for students is
an integral part of the Tucker Center’s mission. During the internship,
students work collaboratively on ongoing projects within a research team
which may include a faculty, graduate students and possibly
undergraduates. Interns will be exposed to many facets of the research
experience including literature review, data collection and entry, data
analysis, and synthesizing and reporting results using both quantitative
and qualitative methodologies. Our internship is appropriate for
students who plan to (and are serious about) pursuing graduate school.
Students will be afforded a unique experience in a “first and only” one
of its kind research center. Internships are unpaid and can range from
10-30 hours a week, depending on the goals of the student. Internships
typically run June through early August.
Interested students should send a resume/CV, unofficial transcript, and
a cover letter to Dr. Nicole LaVoi, Associate Director, Tucker Center
for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, School of Kinesiology, 203 Cooke
Hall, 1900 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. For more
information contact Dr. LaVoi at 612.626.6055 or email nmlavoi@umn.edu
