Today, girls and women in sport participation is at an all-time high, yet the percentage of women coaches at all levels of competition is near or at an all-time low. To honor National Girls & Women in Sport Day and to help increase and retain women in the coaching profession, on February 7, 2014 the Tucker Center collaborated with Gopher Athletics and the Alliance of Women Coaches to host a one-day, sold out Women Coaches Symposium in TCF Bank Stadium. Over 120 current youth sport, high school, club, collegiate women coaches, and female student-athletes with an interest in the coaching profession, participated in this unique opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking. We hope this will become an annual event ... stay tuned!

Symposium Purpose
- To provide high quality educational programming
- To provide an avenue for networking for women in the coaching profession
- To build community among female coaches
- To increase and retain women in the coaching profession
- To launch a local/regional Alliance of Women Coaches Loop Group
