Post-orientation next steps

  • Mark your calendar for Welcome Week: Aug. 29-Sept. 3. Welcome Week is required for the Class of 2022. You will receive an email to your U of M account with details, and will be asked to sign up for events during Welcome Week.
  • Pack your CEHD t-shirt at the top of your bags because you will want to wear it for New Student Convocation on College Day, Aug. 30!
  • If you do not yet have an iTunes account, please create one using the instructions in your orientation folders. Bring your username and password to College Day, as you will need this for your new iPad!
  • If you're planning to live on campus, visit the Housing and Residential Life website to find your move-in date and time and tips on connecting with your roommate. Housing assignments will be available by the end of July.

Financial next steps

At the MyU website you will want to:

  • Check your Financial Aid Status to verify you have completed all necessary financial aid items and respond to your electronic Financial Aid Award notice (eFAAN), available mid to late July.
  • Sign up for Direct Deposit if you receive financial aid.
  • Set up Parent/Guest Access if you would like a parent or other third-party to have view-only access to your student record.
  • Update your health plan coverage if you did not do so when you registered. Visit the Office of Student Health Benefits website to review the Waiver Request form and additional information about health care coverage at the University.
  • Update your personal information to keep your school contact information updated and private.
