New Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy
and Development
| Effective July 1, 2009, a
new department has been created
that integrates the business and
marketing education, human
resource development and adult
education, and comprehensive
WHRE programs from the
Department of
Work and Human Resource
Education (WHRE) into the
department formerly known as
Educational Policy and
Administration (EdPA). The
name of this new department is
Organizational Leadership,
Policy and Development (OLPD).
It will offer exciting
opportunities for collaboration
and interdisciplinary education

Program Changes
As a result of this
restructuring, programs in the
former Department of Work and
Human Resource Education (WHRE)
have been affected as follows:
Human Resource Development, Adult Education, and
Comprehensive WHRE Graduate Programs
The graduate programs will continue under the new
Department of

Human Resource Development and Business and Marketing
Education Undergraduate Programs
The undergraduate programs will continue under the new
Department of
Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development with the
exception of BME undergraduate licensure which has been
suspended.

Business and Industry Education/Business
and Marketing Programs
The business and marketing education master’s degree
programs are being suspended. The College of Education and Human
Development will continue to recommend admitted students to the
Board of Teaching for business teacher licensure through June
2013. For questions about the BIE/BME programs such as the
M.Ed., business teacher licensure, M.A. or pre-licensure
(undergraduate level), please contact Jennifer

Career and Technical Education
The WHRE credential review process for secondary CTE licensure
will continue. For information regarding this licensure process,

Technology Education
The B.S. program in technology education is being phased out. No
new admissions will occur. Previously admitted students who have
