Manure Management for Moo-filled Lands
By Mary Zahurones

NameMy name is Mary Zahurones and I am a freshman majoring in Nursing at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I grew up in a large city and moved to a dairy farm when I was nine years old, which sparked my interest in the dairy industry. In August 2011 I was crowned the 58th Princess Kay of the Milky Way. I act as the official goodwill ambassador for the nearly 4,500 dairy farmers in Minnesota and travel the state spreading knowledge about the dairy industry. I chose to make a video on water sustainability with a focus on manure management on dairy farms. As an advocate for the dairy industry, I feel that it is vital to represent a realistic video of the positive efforts dairy farmers are making environmentally.
