Dr. Abdul Omari is a three-time Gopher, with a bachelor’s in global studies, a master’s of public policy, and a PhD in comparative and international development education. He is the founder of AMO Enterprise, which started as a passion project during his doctorate work. AMO Enterprise provides an educational platform for businesses to work on leadership development and the inseparable ties to equity, inclusion, and diversity.

What is your favorite memory from the University of Minnesota?
After the graduation ceremony for my PhD, my mommy walked right up to me and grabbed my degree. She opened it and looked in before demanding that we take a picture with her holding it. It is just as much my degree as hers and my family's.
What professor(s) or course(s) were most influential during your time in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD)?
For fear of leaving someone out, I will refrain. There are too many to name. I thank them all.

What gets you excited about work?
As a leadership development professional who does a lot of training development, it is hard to know if my work is impactful. Yet, I can sometimes see the dots connecting for people as I speak. Knowing that the message is resonating gives me chills every time I am before an audience.
