Arts in Education Degrees and Programs
Arts in Education
The Arts in Education program area is multidimensional, focusing on issues related to art curriculum, art instruction, assessment, art teacher education, and policy studies. We offer teaching licenses for prospective and established teachers, professional development opportunities and advanced graduate degrees. Students have opportunities to conduct research in urban and suburban school settings, in museum education programs and community arts organizations. Individuals wishing to further their career in art education can also focus their inquiry in the area of staff development in the arts and on national and regional guidelines for arts education.
Program faculty work closely with national, state, and local level art education initiatives, encouraging students to collaborate in the development, analysis, and implementation of art-related programs.
