For M.A. and Ph.D. students outside of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction who wish to minor in Education, Curriculum and Instruction.
This minor focuses on the curricular and instructional processes central to all educational endeavors. It is applicable for any student pursuing a professional role in:
- PreK-12 education
- Postsecondary and research settings
- Educational service agencies
- Business and industry

Requirements for M.A. Students
A minimum of 6 credits of CI-designated coursework is required for students at a master's level. CI courses must be selected with the consultation of the Director of Graduate Studies.
Requirements for Ph.D. Students
A doctoral minor requires at least 12 credits, including:
- CI 8131- Curriculum and Instruction core: Critical Examination of Curriculum in Context (3.0 cr)
- CI 8132- Curriculum and Instruction Core: Teaching Theory and Research (3.0 cr)
+ Electives (6 Credits): Courses will be selected in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies.
How to Apply
Submit a request to add a graduate education minor. When the request has been processed you will receive am email notification. To officially declare the minor after the request is processed, you will submit your minor degree plan in GPAS (Grad Planning & Audit System) for approval by the program.
