We offer five undergraduate programs that will let you explore teaching and learning in both classroom and professional settings, abroad and at home. All of our programs are rooted in our mission of educational equity and social justice.
Explore a career as an elementary teacher or a related career in educational testing or publishing. Graduates of this program are prepared for the MEd and teaching license in elementary education program. Gain experience in schools with three on-site practicums and take advantage of study abroad programs while gaining teaching experience.
DirecTrack to Teaching is a non-degree program for undergraduates interested in exploring teaching as a profession. Students have the opportunity to work in the schools, understand school culture, and gain an understanding of issues in education while preparing for a career in teaching. You will gain content experience in your chosen major and get preferred admissions into the graduate MEd and initial teaching license program.
Advance your career by adding a minor that complements your major coursework. Stand out to employers and expand your skill set with practical minors for both education and non-education majors.
The Learning Technologies minor is offered completely online to fit with your schedule. You will develop expertise in using digital media and online technologies to become a digitally savvy leader in your field.
The Racial Justice in Urban Schooling minor is designed for students interested in the intersections of race, social class, language status, gender or sexual orientation, and how those impact educational equity and social justice.
The undergraduate minor and certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) will prepare you to teach English at home or abroad in community ESL programs, as well as for graduate study in TESL.
