Life has taken me many places, from my youth on a North Dakota cattle ranch, to community-engaged education in East Baltimore, to doctoral studies near the beaches of Miami. Teaching, research, and practice in counseling has always been a professional haven for understanding these vast cultural spaces and for coming to a deeper understanding of myself, others, and society. Clinically, I am a licensed psychologist with several years of experience practicing in college counseling settings. My research, too, centers around college mental health, as well as LGBT well-being, and multicultural competence in supervision and therapy. In the counselor education program, I’ve taught courses such as Introduction to Clinical Mental Health, Diagnosis & Treatment, and Counseling Internship. I value a collaborative, culturally-informed learning experience and enjoy supporting students through mentorship and advising.
