Biography

I am the coordinator of the early childhood special education (ECSE) licensure program. In addition to teaching a variety of special education licensure courses at the University, I have the honor of supervising teacher candidates during their student teaching experiences. My knowledge and skills in the area of special education have been formed by years of formal training as well as 15 years of practical experience as an ECSE teacher, ASD specialist, and private educational consultant in the state of Minnesota. While I loved supporting the development of young children with delays/disabilities in their homes, schools, and community settings, I am thrilled to be working on a team that supports the development of future special educators.

Courses I teach:

  • EPSY 5625 – Introduction to Early Childhood Special Education
  • EPSY 5681 – Educating Preschoolers with Disabilities: Specialized Approaches and Interventions
  • EPSY 5682 – Education of Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities: Specialized Approaches and Intervention
  • EPSY 5609 – Family-Centered Services
  • EPSY 5761/EPSY 5762 – Student Teaching in ECSE
  • EPSY 5699 – Experimental Teaching Seminar
