Biography

Hello! My name is Brittney Stanek. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. After I graduated from the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, I attended RIT where I received my AAS degree in exercise science. I returned home to complete my bachelor's of liberal studies at Viterbo. I aspired to be a teacher of the Deaf, so I completed a master's degree in special education with a Deaf / Hard of Hearing specialization from the University of Arizona. Then, I worked as a teacher of the Deaf for several years before I switched careers and began working for a non-profit organization. It was there I first taught community American Sign Language (ASL) classes, family ASL lessons, and 1:1 ASL instructions and found my passion for teaching ASL.

In my free time, I enjoy running, rollerblading, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do every summer is to go out on the river with my family.
