Biography

Dr. George has taught at a variety of levels, including K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and adult education. Additionally, prior to teaching in higher education she had a career as a community services provider, middle school health teacher, and afterschool program director. Dr. George’s teaching and research interests lie in the connections between families, schools, and communities, as well as equity and inclusion, and embracing the variation between and amongst individuals, families, and communities. Across her career, she has distinguished herself as an expert and resource among her colleagues by engaging curriculums and pedagogies that attend closely to being responsive to students and communities using orientations to equity and justice.
