Profile

Louis Quast's primary appointment is as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, in the College of Education and Human Development.  He teaches leadership, career-development, and human resource development courses, conducts research on multiple aspects of these related fields, and works on other professional engagement projects.  In his work at the Carlson School of Management, he served on the faculty steering committee for the University of Minnesota Center for Integrative Leadership;  and co-taught GCC 5023: Leading Across Sectors to Address Grand Challenges, formerly the Integrative Leadership Seminar (MGMT 6402/PA 5105/OLPD 6402/PUBH 6702/LAW 6623) along with colleagues from The Carlson School, The Humphrey School, The School of Public Health, and the Law School here at the U. of M.

He held the Hellervik / PDI Distinguished Chair in Leadership and Adult Career Development, and served as the Coordinator of Graduate Programs in Human Resource Development, the Director of Graduate Studies for the Graduate Minor in Integrative Leadership, and was a senior lecturer in both the Carlson School of Management and the Department of Educational Psychology. In addition, he is a Research Fellow at the Consortium for Multicultural Psychology Research at Michigan State University. His service work includes a number of professional engagement projects including hosting a symposium on Best Practices in Leadership Development, and working with a cross-sector team to host a workshop for Job Loss Counselors and Related Professionals. He continues to work as a Principal Consultant in the Leadership and Talent Development practice of Korn Ferry Consulting, focusing primarily on designing and delivering leadership development interventions for large public and private-sector organizations across the United States and in a number of countries around the world.
