Biography

I am a PhD student in CIDE with interests in the role of higher education in global health security efforts and international development. Specifically I’m interested in the ways in which higher education institutions situate themselves within global health security networks and partnerships, and how global initiatives get interpreted and enacted at the level of the institution and state. Much of my recent research and evaluation work has also looked at the development of multisectoral, multidisciplinary health workforces, and the challenges in designing and evaluating these types of complex educational programs.

Many of my research interests stem from my full-time work at UMN’s Strategic Partnerships and Research Collaborative. During my time at the university, I have worked on global health and infectious disease projects funded by both USAID and CDC. I also provide monitoring & evaluation support for the University Covid Action Network (U-CAN), the university’s SDG initiative, and other internal programmatic evaluation efforts.

Prior to coming to Minnesota I was a Peace Corps Volunteer (2012-2014) in Rwanda where I worked on health and life skills education initiatives.
