2021 Master of Social Work Field Fair
The master of social work programs of Augsburg University, St. Catherine University, St. Thomas University and the University of Minnesota will host the 2021 Field Fair, and will present it in a new and innovative fashion—VIRTUALLY!
Each year, the Spring Field Fair gives MSW students and agencies the chance to informally meet, exchange information, and arrange for full internship interviews at a later date. Our four schools have partnered with a plethora of agencies to provide you with an excellent opportunity to prepare for professional social work practice.
The Field Fair is scheduled for Monday, April 12, 2021, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., offered virtually through links set up by each agency. The Field Fair is NOT A TIME FOR ACTUAL INTERVIEWS. The interviewing period runs from Tuesday, April 13, through Friday, May 7, 2021.
In preparation for the Field Fair, you can access information about each agency participating in the Field Fair from this page. Once you’ve navigated to this page, you will find a list of the agencies, and each agency can be accessed by clicking on its name. The agencies have provided brief introductory videos sharing information about their agencies and the learning experience to expect should you complete your field practicum at their site. Additionally, some agencies have provided links to handouts/brochures. (A complete description of an agency can be reviewed by logging into your school’s Intern Placement Tracking {IPT} system.
It is important to review and educate yourself about the agencies you are interested in prior to the day of the fair. Agencies offer differ concentrations and placement levels. It is imperative to only register for agencies for which you qualify. If you are unsure which agencies you are eligible to meet with and/or interview, consult with your school’s social work program. On the day of the fair, you will participate in 10min time slots for the agencies for which you register. Time Slot Registration for agencies can be accessed on the List of Field Fair Agencies link by clicking on "Sign-up" located directly under the agency's name. Please note that there will be a maximum of five students that can attend during each 10min time slot.
The agencies will email you prior to the fair with a reminder of your scheduled time slot and a link to log into.
University of Minnesota students, you will also participate in the MSW Field Registration and Field Fair Orientation earlier the same day, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Detailed information regarding this event will be emailed to you.
