Our programs and research focus on increasing student success in higher education. In our teaching, research, and community work, we believe that diverse perspectives promote strong communication and collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and engaged citizenship.
The Department of Postsecondary Teaching and Learning is home to the First-Year Experience (FYE) curriculum, the Multicultural College Teaching and Learning M.A., post-baccalaureate certificate, and graduate minors.

The First Year Experience
Each year the freshmen of the College of Education and Human Development participate in the First Year Experience (FYE) program offered through the Department of Postsecondary Teaching and Learning. The program focuses on the social, academic, and institutional needs of first-year students. Read more »
PsTL's 2013-14 Engaging Pedagogies Colloquiua Series
The Department of Postsecondary Teaching and Learning held its second colloquium on November 14 and was pleased to have executive director of Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center Heidi Barajas as the speaker.
