Commencement

CEHD commencement is held once a year in the spring. No tickets are necessary, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Mariucci Arena has ample seating.

The 2014 CEHD graduate ceremony will take place from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 at Mariucci Arena. The guest speaker will be former Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak.

The 2014 CEHD undergraduate commencement ceremony will take place from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 at Mariucci Arena. The guest speaker will be UMN head football coach Jerry Kill.

  • Classmates gathered as they lined up before the ceremony.
  • Friends celebrated together.
  • M.Ed. students gathered as they lined up before the ceremony.
  • School of Kinesiology gradutes.
  • Institute of Child Development graduates.
  • School of Social Work graduates.
  • Educational Psychology graduates.
  • Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development graduates.
  • Curriculum and Instruction garduates.
  • Family Social Science graduates.
  • The procession into Mariucci.
  • Mariucci Arena.
  • Colorful kente stoles were worn by many students who participated in the University Mulitcultural Celebration of Achievement.
  • Undergraduate student speaker Xue Xiong and CEHD Dean Jean Quam.
  • Quincy Lewis, associate development officer for the Golden Gopher Fund, gave the commencement address at the undergraduate ceremony and recieved his M.Ed. during the graduate ceremony.
  • Students celebrated finishing their degrees.
