Recognizing donors is an important way for the college to express its deep gratitude and show supporters how their generosity helps to foster excellence and the drive to discover.
The Presidents Club recognizes individuals, families, and organizations whose University-wide cumulative giving totals of $100,000 or more.
Donors who make planned gift commitments, such as including the University in their will or trust, or naming the U as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan accounts, make a generous promise to future generations and become a part of the Heritage Society.
We are first-generation college students and became teachers to give back to our community what it gave to us, a chance to learn and grow. Both of us were supported by undergraduate scholarships. Without the aid of others we could not have attended the university. Our bequest to the college will create a new endowed fund, the Thomas Bacig and Barbara Perushek Teacher Education Scholarship. This gift will support future first-generation students who want to become teachers.

From classrooms in the Twin Cities to nonprofits in Thailand, from support for young children in a homeless shelter to help for military families, the College of Education and Human Development is working to improve lives everywhere. Our faculty, staff, and students are passionate and focused, conducting research that seeks answers to some of society’s toughest issues. We could not do this work without your help. This past fiscal year, nearly 2,000 alumni and friends gave more than $14 million to support the work of the college. These gifts created scholarships and fellowships, provided program support, and enhanced research and community partnerships. Through gifts of all sizes, faculty and students benefited greatly from your generosity.
Thank you for helping us improve lives.
