Continuing Education and Conference Center

Speakers: Peter Demerath, Ph.D. and Michael Goh, Ph.D.

This workshop will cover a re-thinking of the achievement gap in order to re-engage disadvantaged students with learning and move toward connecting curriculum and pedagogy to the out-of-school lives, knowledge, and assets of students. As co-presenters, Demerath and Goh invite educators and educational leaders to hear about their journey of interrupting how teachers are prepared to face diversity in their classrooms and experience the andragogy and pedagogy that was implemented in the University of Minnesota’s teacher education program to stimulate the growth of intercultural competence in teachers.

University students, staff, and faculty can register at a discounted rate of $75.

Additional early bird and multiple workshop registration discounts are available for non-U of M personnel. Contact Sara Najm (biel0032@umn.edu) for more details.
